The interlacing of an unlikely duo
When co-founders Gautam and Liza met on their first day at UCLA Anderson School of Management, they seemed worlds apart. Gautam was pivoting from a nearly decade-long career as a criminal prosecutor and had become engrossed in real estate and graduate-level teaching; Liza spent a large portion of her life focused on physiology and psychology, and at Anderson was focused on impact and organizational inclusion. For two years, they barely spoke beyond pleasantries.
However, their paths converged on a class trip to Chile. Both felt out of place among their classmates, and in their shared discomfort, they found a genuine connection. Since then, their friendship blossomed, and over time their interests and passions converged - and Interlace was born. Beyond anything, the connection was created and remains steadfast based on common values, which naturally became the values of Interlace:

Liza Katsman
Co-Founder
Liza Katsman helps leaders embed people-centered practices into the foundation of their organizational culture and business operations. An accomplished DEI and Leadership development consultant, coach, and educator, Liza has worked with clients in tech, architecture, engineering, entertainment, and public service to provide strategic guidance, organizational assessment, and education to employees and leadership.
Summa cum laude graduate in neurophysiology of memory and learning from UCLA, with a minor in education inequity.
Over 10 years of experience in education, technical change, and organizational change management, providing a multi-faceted perspective on leadership and DEI.
MBA from UCLA Anderson, awarded top graduate in Organizational Management.

Gautam Sood
Co-Founder
Gautam Sood is a distinguished DEI and Leadership Development consultant, coach, and educator with a rich background in law, business, and academic research. As a former criminal prosecutor, Gautam uniquely understands the culture of public agencies and has leveraged his experience & expertise to design impactful workshops for organizations like the California State Assembly, the Orange County District Attorney's Office, and UCLA's Anderson School of Management.
Holds a JD, MBA, and a postdoctoral fellowship in Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion from UCLA.
Expert in designing and delivering belonging training, bias reduction workshops, and cultural competence programs.
Research expertise in applying behavioral science to improve organizational belonging and equity.
